CinemaBomar will be showing an assortment of 16mm films 8 - 9PM Monday, July
2nd 2007 at Super Happy Fun Land.
We will be followed by Projexorcism www.projexorcism.com and Mr. Projector
www.myspace.com/mrprojector
No final decision has been made yet about what we will show, but here are
some of the possibilities:
"Fighting Petroleum Storage Fires"
Nat'l Fire Protection Assn, 1981
Firefighter training film has some great footage of fireballs and explosions
in So. California. Be sure you know your foam and where to get plenty of
it. And put out those dyke fires first!
"The Lady or the Tiger"
EBE, 1969
Portentious parable of the dark power of women over men. Hard to describe,
except that it is SOOO 1969. Psychedelic reverse-color golf carts!
"Venture Offshore"
Clark Oil & Refining Corp, 1970s
The drama of offshore oil exploration & production. Lots of nerds, machines
and 70's technology
"Work and You. Do you know what you want?"
Sandler Institutional Films, 1976
Strangely downbeat vocational film. Message seems to be that there are so
many kinds of job in the world even a loser like you can find something to
do. Lots of good 70s styles, workplace scenes
"The Dangerous Stranger" (1st Ed)
Pathe 1949
The nice policemen shows us how we mustn't trust strangers. The Sid Davis
classic in its first incarnation has a great cartoon-character finish.
